Caring for a Loved One

The term “caregiver” is used to refer to the person primarily responsible for providing care to the person with HE. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the person giving care and the person receiving care are in this together – sometimes referred to as “care partners” – and the needs and concerns of both partners must be addressed for the relationship to stay healthy.

In this section, we’ll talk about some of the things you as the caregiver may need to do to take care of your loved one. In the next section, we’ll look at some of the things you’ll need to do to take care of yourself.
